New York has no statewide due date. Towns, cities, villages, school districts and counties each set their own, so most payment dates are local. In New York City, the Department of Finance bills all five boroughs. In most towns you challenge your assessment on Grievance Day, the fourth Tuesday in May, and exemptions like STAR are due by March 1.
